If you’re not as athletic as you’d like to be, the main reason you give is that you don’t have time. In November 2017, we conducted a survey on Stebby, to which nearly 3,000 users responded. The results showed that almost all respondents valued sports and an active lifestyle, but 50% felt they didn’t have enough time to be active enough, and 15% said they struggled with motivation.
We repeated this survey in a very simple format among among FitQ Instagram followers, and the results showed that 65% of respondents again cited lack of time as a problem, while 22% cited lack of motivation. Admittedly, the sample was far from representative, and the survey methodology would have been torn to shreds by an opponent during a defense of a scientific thesis, but based on gut feeling, it seems that trainers haven’t gained significantly more time or motivation over the past four years. It’s possible that the time is ripe again for another large-scale survey, but even more so, it seems that the time is ripe for solutions.
What do you think—is a lack of time really a hindrance, or is it just an excuse to get out of things? If you’d like to share your opinion, please send it to blog@fitq.me
